What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that are transferred to the user's computer from websites visited, including the Websites. Usually they are used to ensure a smooth functioning of the website and improved navigation, as they allow you to remember and communicate essential information about the use of the website to the owner, in this case the Data Controller.

Cookies can be stored permanently on the user's computer and have a variable duration (so-called persistent cookies), but they can also be automatically cancelled when the browser is closed or have a limited lifetime (so-called session cookies).

Cookies can be installed by websites that the user visits (so-called first-party cookies) or can be installed by other websites (so-called third-party cookies).

Cookies are used for different purposes, such as performing computer authentication, monitoring sessions, storing information about specific configurations concerning users accessing the server, etc.

Types of Cookies used and related purposes

The Websites use the following types of cookies:

  • browsing or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website;
  • analytical cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they use the website;
  • functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria in order to improve the service provided to the user;

These cookies are used by Google Analytics to perform statistical analysis on how users navigate the Websites, such as number of pages visited, number of clicks made on the page.

However, if you prefer not to install these cookies, you can change your browser setting so that you are notified of the presence of cookies and choose whether to accept them or not.

Managing cookie preferences

When you first access any page of the Websites, there is a banner that contains a short notice. By continuing to browse, by accessing another area of the Websites or selecting an element of the Websites (for example, a link), you consent to the use of cookies. The consent to the use of cookies is stored with a “technical cookie”.

How to disable and delete cookies

Should you wish to disable the cookies, simply update your privacy settings in your browser. Most browsers are configured to accept, control or, if necessary, disable cookies through these settings. Please be aware that disabling browsing cookies or functionality cookies may cause an unsatisfactory functioning of the Websites and/or limit the service offered by the Data Controller.

Below is the path for managing and, if necessary, deleting cookies from the following browsers:
