Starting from November 2023, the Eurosystem Collateral Management System (ECMS) will replace the 19 collateral management systems of the National Central Banks in the Euro Zone with a single platform integrated with the Eurosystem Target Services.

The new system will improve collateral mobilisation and credit provision in Euro Central Banking Money.

ECMS

Already able to manage National Bank collateral pooling, Aquarius is being enhanced with a new ECMS module to:

  • Monitor and forecast collateral accounts and positions
  • Manage Collateral Instructions, Marginal Lending, Credit Freezing and Maximum Credit
  • Provide visibility on Credit Lines, potential Collateral available (intraday and next days), Open Market operations and Corporate Actions cash impacts

For more information about ECMS please see: https://www.ecb.europa.eu/paym/target/ecms/html/index.en.html
