TAS has achieved the EMVCo certification for the new component EMV L2 Kernel recently developed

The EMV L2 Kernel is a necessary device to any product providing functions for card acquiring through terminals, EMV compliant, both for the domestic and international circuit. The kernel allows the management of the communication and security between the chip card and terminals that use these cards to make transactions (ATMs and POSs). The kernel enables the functions requested to perform EMV transactions, implementing controls for chip cards and managing the parameters of delivery, interfacing the application and the Card Reader and safe keypad (EPP) peripherals.

A typical example of the use of this component is TAS software NPT Solutions ATM Multivendor.

TAS has decided not to merely renew the previous expiring certification, but to upgrade the component to the newest specifications, then subjecting it to approval by a laboratory accredited by EMVCo.

The new device complies with the new EMV 4.2b specifications and manages functionalities such as cash withdrawal, inquiry, cash in and payments of goods and services, allowing TAS solutions to answer the new requirements issued by the Consorzio Bancomat for chip card payments via PagoBancomat circuit through ATM. It also provides support to the validation of the online pin (used by international circuits), offline-not encoded (currently used by the ATM circuit) and offline encrypted (for future use).

The new certificate obtained will be valid until July 26, 2013, and is visible in detail and published on the EMVCo website
